Now that you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, you’ll most likely want to install custom content and mods into the game. Log into your Origin account, go to Origin > Redeem Product Code and put the code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS into the field to redeem your free copy of The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection!

UPDATE 07/23/14: As of today, you are now able to get The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection for free on your own, even if you don’t already own any Sims 2 games. Give them your registration code for the game to prove you actually do own The Sims 2 and the adviser will add The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection to your Origin account. Tell the adviser you have a physical copy of The Sims 2 and would like to go digital.

This isn’t a tutorial on how to get the Ultimate Collection if you don’t already have it but in quick terms, if you have a physical copy of The Sims 2, go to EA Support and go to their live chat to speak with an EA Adviser. The nifty thing about this is that even if you own the base game and nothing else, you get the Ultimate Collection for free. The Ultimate Collection includes all expansions and stuff packs ever released for the game, including Holiday Stuff which was a limited edition stuff pack and now goes for around $200 on Amazon due to its rarity.

As well as this, Mod the Sims offers a store where customers may purchase The Sims games, though there are no additional benefits for the customer. By donating, the member gets more benefits on the site, including the removal of advertisements, a larger avatar, and custom titles, though they lack the option to download any additional content. All content is offered for free, but members can donate to the site, or subscribe. Registration is free, and is not required to download content. In order to create an account, users must be 18 years old. After this, it was moved farther away from the main site to its own adult content exclusive site, SexySims. Originally, it was in the same place as the other content offered by the site, but it was later moved to a different section. ĭue to the release of The Sims 3 in 2009, the site name was changed from ModTheSims2 to Mod The Sims, to account for custom content and other modifications for later games from The Sims series.Īdult content is hosted on the MTS servers. This was because staff on both sites felt that the line between the two sites was blurring and disliked having to send people to the other site constantly, to have their questions answered.
However, in May 2009 MTS and Sims 2 Community were merged into one site again. The purpose of this was to alleviate the social threads on MTS, so MTS could focus on modifying the game. Stanfield previously created "Mod the Singles", a forum-based site for hosting and encouraging modification of the game Singles: Flirt Up Your Life.Ī sister site, Sims 2 Community, appeared around July 2005. The site runs on vBulletin 3.0.14, with certain modifications. Tutorials on how to make the aforementioned modifications are also hosted on the same site, along with forums devoted to game and modification help as well as general discussion. MTS focuses on custom content for The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4, most notably game modifications.
